2017 – Present
Pixel & Timber | Co-Founder, Senior Industrial Designer
As a founding partner and co-owner, I helped create Pixel & Timber from day one. I worked with my co-founder to build a wealth of client relationships and a portfolio of beautiful work for our clients. I personally managed and executed work directly with our clients — from scoping and proposals, through the design process, to creating shippable design-for-manufacturing drawings for vendors to produce at scale. I love pitching and presenting to (as well as working with) clients in the Fortune 50 echelon and enjoy tackling complex and long-term product development projects.
Polar 3D | Chief Marketing Manager, User Experience
As Chief Marketing Manager for Polar 3D I used my brand development, user experience, and product design skills to direct and grow the Polar 3D brand. I created and executed marketing initiatives in digital and print mediums, as well as drove traffic to our online software platform and social media accounts. My biggest success came through directing efforts in a brand and software product refresh that resulted in a $2 Mil licensing contract with the GE corporation for national distribution of our educational software and 3D printer in K-12 schools. Additionally, I was tasked to re-design the Polar Cloud online 3D printing software UX & UI. I worked closely with the backend programming team, creating personas, InVision wireframes and front-end UI assets and code they could implement.
Stress Engineering Services | Industrial Designer II
As an Industrial Designer for HELP Design Co. —the Industrial Design (ID) practice within Stress Engineering Services (SES) — I brought my passion for user experience, brand interaction, and emotional content to help the team design delightful products for our clients and their users. I worked directly with multiple Fortune 500 clients to take complex technical problems through the product development process, gaining a massive amount of design for manufacturing experience as well as client management skills. I also leveraged my graphic design and branding experience to provide those additional services for our clients and help them better sell the products designed during the development process.
Frontgate Home Furnishings| Industrial Designer I
While completing my degree at the University of Cincinnati, I worked for the Frontgate team of designers to create over ten products that shipped to market — including a handful at the end of my tenure that were entirely directed by me — from brainstorm sketch through manufacturable CAD, looks-like renderings, and vendor-facing production drawings. At least two of these products are still top sellers for Frontgate today, almost a decade later.
